Subject: Re: [xsl] Keys off of variable xml source From: David Carlisle <davidc@xxxxxxxxx> Date: Fri, 1 Apr 2005 17:40:50 +0100 |
The reason for a lookup xml source is to act as a cross-reference to data in the main xml source. So, I need to reference all elements who's ID = 123 but my match is expressed as a code value "abc". The code "abc" maps to 123 in my lookup. This will be easier in xslt2 where you can use a key in an expression step, or supply a document as a third argument to key) match="xxx[@id=key('keyname', 'abc', $mapfile)]" in XSLT 1 you have to pull the logic out of the match pattern and into the template body But often when handling cross references you en up using select expressions anyway rather than match patterns where it's much easier to surround the code by the needed xsl:for-each to switch document contexts.
