[xsl] How to generate attributes on separate lines

Subject: [xsl] How to generate attributes on separate lines

The root node for the xml generated by my stylesheet contains several
xmlns:??? entries.  The root node is generated as a single line which makes
it difficult to view.

Is there a processing instruction that tells the processor to emit these on
separate lines as is normally the case when one edits manually?
