It doesn't sound stupid at all. Getting similar output from running the same source through two different processes is a common goal. However, I think you would get more and better answers by posting to a FOP list rather than the XSL list. You can find out how to subscribe to the FOP lists at http://xml.apache.org/fop/maillist.html Jay Bryant Bryant Communication Services (presently consulting at Synergistic Solution Technologies) senetex@xxxxxxxxxxx 05/27/2005 02:36 AM Please respond to xsl-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To xsl-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx cc Subject [xsl] Differences between AWTRenderer and PDFRender Hi! Unfortunately I noticed that the AWTRender of FOP 0.20.5 renders the XSL:FO input different than the PDFRender (the renderer of the driver is set to "Driver.RENDER_PDF" in the transformation code). As far as I could see, the rendered columns of the PDF output are larger than the ones of the AWT output. I guess the following question will sound a little bit stupid, but is it possible to solve this problem because it is very important for me, that both rendered outputs look similar.
