Very interesting idea David. I forgot to tell you that repetitions aren't allowed. e.g. WAAUX01 WAAUX01 WAAUXCallerID WAAUX03 Should output a 2. However the translate() funcation eliminates this differences. Is that possible or too complicated for XSLT? Many Thanks, Houman -----Original Message----- From: David Carlisle [mailto:davidc@xxxxxxxxx] Sent: 05 October 2005 16:38 To: xsl-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: [xsl] Wildcard problem <xsl:value-of select="count(*[starts-with(translate(name(),'123456789','000000000'),'W AAUX00')])"/> ________________________________________________________________________ This e-mail has been scanned for all viruses by Star.
