Hi,
I am glad to announce that a new major version of the oXygen XML Editor
is available from our website
http://www.oxygenxml.com
Version 8.0 of the oXygen XML Editor adds as main features a
spreadsheet-like XML Grid Editor, management support for major XML and
relational databases, the options and transformation scenarios can be
stored inside the project file and more.
oXygen XML editor is the first tool that adds support for NVDL
(Namespace-based Validation Dispatching Language) scripts, thus enabling
editing documents with complex structure, that contain multiple
languages defined by different schemas, for instance XHTML with embedded
XForms.
There are a number of XSLT related improvements described shortly below.
The transformation scenarios can be specified at project level thus the
management is easier as you can see only the relevant scenarios and also
this enables sharing the scenarios as they are transferred together with
the project.
It is not required anymore for the current file to be the XML source or
the stylesheet for a transformation. This enabled configuring a
transformation scenario that transforms files that include the current
document.
The XSLT engine used for validation is detected automatically from the
associated scenario, if any, and the XPath content completion presents
function signatures highlighting the current argument.
The support for Saxon was updated to work with the latest Saxon 8.8 from
Saxonica. Both Saxon 8 Basic and Schema Aware are supported, including
debugging and profiling (the SA version requires a separate license from
Saxonica).
