You can output text and HTML, or write your own serializer. You can also set a few serialization options, as the indent length. More than to be a specific end-tool to convert any XML file to HTML files, it is intended to be used within XSLT stylesheets to highlight any sequence (for example XML excerpts in articles or blog entries).
