That doesn't work on mac (which uses a single \r with no \n) the
simplest thing to do is 
[\r\n]+
which works everywhere so long as you don't mind losing blank lines.

if you do mind losing blank lines then replacing 

(\r\n?) by \n does the right thing I think.

yes if you want to be like xml 1.1 and support NEL need to replace
(\r\n?|&#885;) by \n
