In my case, I've got an 'base' doc and several 'update' docs. The update docs contain elements that should replace their corresponding elements in the base doc. There can be a variable number of update docs. This is essentially a list - folding operation. Use f:foldl(). Recently I answered a similar question in a MSDN forum, the only difference was that the OP wanted to apply a list of replace operations on a string and use each partial result as the input for the next replace operation. See it here (at the end of the thread): http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=3995256&SiteID=1 -- Cheers, Dimitre Novatchev --------------------------------------- Truly great madness cannot be achieved without significant intelligence. --------------------------------------- To invent, you need a good imagination and a pile of junk ------------------------------------- Never fight an inanimate object ------------------------------------- You've achieved success in your field when you don't know whether what you're doing is work or play
