Hi Martin,

Actually I generate 2 kinds....

- xhtml (web rendition)
- DITA map/topics (which they import into framemaker to produce nice PDF's
showing their product information.

But even DITA recognizes these <sub> and <sup> tags just as AdobeFramemaker
does, so we use them for all publications actually.

You will need to explain in more detail what you want to achieve.
Do you have different stylesheets, some outputting XML, some HTML? Or in
what case do you want a CDATA section and in what case do you want to
output HTML elements like 'sub'?
