Does anyone here know whether the XSLT processor in MarkLogic supports schema-aware XSLT 2.0?
http://developer.marklogic.com/pubs/4.2/books/xquery.pdf does not really tell, as far as I can see.
Yes, it does. The data model implementation is shared with the XQuery engine, which is schema-aware. If a schema is in scope for a namespace it will be applied in constructing the data model instance.
