Of course, that's essential. Every day we issue 5-10 evaluation licenses for Saxon-EE (free use for 30 days). We're also generous about extending the evaluation period for people who are doing a genuine evaluation.

Another way to try the software is to get a copy of oXygen or Stylus Studio, both of which include it in the package.

As a vendor, I don't think we will have any difficulty selling the thousand-or-so enterprise edition licenses needed to fund the development. The concern I'm hearing in this thread is that we might judge that a success, but the wider user community wants something different - they want to feel they are doing something mainstream and career-enhancing.
