Actually, why don't you allow the user to select the type of control
scheme they want to use.
For example,
Game Variation 1
Regular Joystick
Game Variation 2
Booster Grip Support (2 buttons!)
Game Variation 3
7800 Joysticks (Is this possible on the 2600?)
Game Variation 4
The ability to use a hacked Nes or Genesis controller
Game Variation 5
Colecovision controller
Just because there isn't a mass produced controller doesn't mean
you can't include support. Didn't T2K for the Jaguar include support for
a rotary controller? Since there wasn't a rotary controller available,
people hacked their own.
