Definitely yes! I think it won't run very fast with my current PC, but I guess the chances of buying me a faster PC are much higher than buying a LCD monitor. And yes, I would like to see the scanline count too. Should be easy to overlay that number. And maybe some other information display might be useful for players (e.g. difficulty switches, palette mode, used controllers) and developers (e.g. current fps, bankswitching mode and way too many more to name them all ;-).
