Personally, I am absolutely TOTALLY against a technique which requires hand optimisation/processing. Tools, utilities... and perhaps a handtweak at the end. But certainly as little hand-manipulation as necessary. None of my images, so far, have been handprocessed on an individual basis. That is, my procedure is the same for all.
