So you could have several different versions of a game in the MMC, each with different cheats without having to reprogram the MMC... OK, true enough; if you have enough memory in the cart to keep multiple variants around (which you will with the new AccSchellErator (or whatever it's called), but don't with the SC), that would make it kinda useful.
