This is okay as most TVs should > show this fine. This is true for NTSC, but PAL VCSs will loose the colour, if a game does an odd number of scanlines per frame. I know you (Rob) don't want to deal with PAL issues yet, but you should still try to always do an even number of scanlines per frame. Then your game will at least display some colours, even if you don't create a special PAL version. BTW, Stella does have a line counting feature. It only shows the number of scanlines in the last frame when exiting the emulator, but that should at least give you an idea, if you are totally off or not. Also Stella (and z26) can simulate the PAL colour loss problem, so that you'd know if you are doing an odd or an even number of scanlines per frame. I have no idea how or if you can enable these features in the Mac version though.
