Hi there!

I think a simplified version of Happy Trails might be doable on the VCS.

I attached a conceptual drawing that uses the playfield.
Each square is 6 PF pixels wide, so the 3*3 grid I show uses 3*6 PF pixels 
plus 8 for the border, summing up to 26.

The grid could probably have a maximum width of 5*3 squares, using changes 
in PF1 and PF2 only, so then it'd use 88 RAM bytes for storing the layout.

As each grid square is 6 PF pixels wide, it should also be possible to 
precisely align the color changes with the squares.

Anyway, just brainstorming here. Is there any info available how the 2600 
version of the similar loco-motion game was supposed to look like?
