Subject: XSL as a DB query language From: "\"Pasqualino \\\"Titto\\\" Assini\"" <assini@xxxxxxxx> Date: Mon, 14 Sep 1998 16:59:11 +0100 |
Do you think that XSL could really be used as a generic XML Repository Query Language ? What would the more evident limitations be ? Is there any alternative (for example: SQL or OQL extensions, XPointer, etc) ? And are you aware of any existing prototype of an XSL query engine ? Thanks in advance. Titto P.S. An aside question: are you aware of any good XML data repository technology ? I was able to find only the ObjectStore and Poet offerings, I guess that there should be something more, especially in the field of SQL databases. -- Pasqualino "Titto" Assini The Data Archive - University of Essex, UK XSL-List info and archive: http://www.mulberrytech.com/xsl/xsl-list
