Subject: Proposed Additional PositionalExpr From: Geoff Nolan <gjn@xxxxxxxxx> Date: Thu, 14 Jan 1999 22:12:06 +1100 |
Dear XSLers, My name is Geoff Nolan and I work for Turn-Key Systems in Sydney Australia. I'm new to this group, so please forgive any initial faux pas. My first contribution is a restatement of a request initially sent to James Clark. This was a proposal to create two new positional tests, first-of-group() and last-of-group(), which would indicate whether a given tag was at the beginning or end of a group of tags of the same type. James' prompt and accurate reply follows: > That's not unreasonable. It would be covered by a > resolution of the sibling-qual issue, eg instead of: > > p[first-of-group()] > > one could have > > p[not(previous-sibling(p))] This solution seems eminently workable to me and I would like to share it with the group. I have other questions etc. but will detail them in separate threads. Regards, Geoff Nolan XSL-List info and archive: http://www.mulberrytech.com/xsl/xsl-list
