Subject: Encoding problem From: "David Halsted" <halstedd@xxxxxxxxxx> Date: Sat, 29 Jan 2000 14:51:25 -0500 |
I have Unicode numeric entities representing
foreign-language characters. The XSL I'm using sets output to HMLT and
encoding to iso-8859-1, which works for everything except one case: when I try
to take XML data with one of these entities and output it in the "value"
attribute of an HTML input element, my parser (Saxon) complains that the output
character is not available in this encoding. Shows up fine in select
boxes, textareas, anything else. It won't even work to create hidden
input.
Any ideas appreciated, with apologies in advance
since it'll inevitably turn out to be something simple that I don't
know. I tried to check the list archives at mulberrytech but they
seem to be crashed.
Thanks,
Dave Halsted
