Viany Jaiswal <xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/XSL/Transform/1.0" wrong namespace (that was used in one of the early drafts but wasn't the final choice) it should be http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform xmlns="http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40" If you are writing html you probably don't want to use any namespace so I would delete the above line. (It was required to turn on html output method in some early drafts but not in the final version) result-ns="" this attribute was removed from the drafts, so it is now an error. You also have to have a version attribute, version="1.0" > It seems that you have some very old documentation on XSL syntax. Make sure you have the 1.0 REC version of the specification.
