Subject: Re: [xsl] 2.1 Must Allow Matching on Default Namespace Without Explicit Prefix From: "Steve Muench" <Steve.Muench@xxxxxxxxxx> Date: Wed, 21 Feb 2001 13:14:16 -0800 |
| Interesting... Now, it will be a learnability hurdle for those of use who | have already learned. But I certainly hope we'll be in the minority :) | But you still didn't answer my question. Will the default namespace be used | to evaluate XPath expressions? I know they're different specs, but I think | inconsistency there would cause even more confusion. Supporting the ability to match on default namespace does not predicate a particular design on how to enable this feature. The other requirement (#1.1) to maintain compatibility with XSLT 1.x would mean that fulfilling requirement #2.1 could not be done via a wholesale change in default behavior as I believe you are fearing. ______________________________________________________________ Steve Muench, Lead XML Evangelist & Consulting Product Manager BC4J & XSQL Servlet Development Teams, Oracle Rep to XSL WG Author "Building Oracle XML Applications", O'Reilly http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/orxmlapp/ XSL-List info and archive: http://www.mulberrytech.com/xsl/xsl-list
