If you are not using the standard processor that comes with Internet Explorer, then the xsl namespace is wrong. It needs to be xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform Aside from that, you don't have any template that matches the root of the document. So there is nothing for your template to work on. You need to have a template that matches the root element ('/') or the top-level named element (/ROOT in your example): <xsl:template match='/ROOT'/> ... </xsl:template> Tom P [Mark Kahn] > can someone tell me what's wrong with this? the xsl doesn't seem to match anything in the xml...mainly the line '<xsl:template match="text">': > > XSL: > > <?xml version='1.0'?> > <xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/TR/WD-xsl"> > <xsl:template match="text"> > <html> > <body> > hello > </body> > </html> > </xsl:template> > </xsl:stylesheet> > XSL-List info and archive: http://www.mulberrytech.com/xsl/xsl-list
