Thanks. What is odd is that everything works great until I have a <!DOCTYPE..> declaration. I was wondering a little about the '<xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="uri:xsl">' myself, but since I grabbed it from somewhere and everything worked, why change it. If the "http://www.w3.org/TR/WD-xsl" or "http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" are just namespaces which may not necessarily relate to a real URI, then does it really matter what reference we put in there? Couldn't "<xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://somedomain.com/dummyurl">' work just as well? Yes, this is written for the Microsoft dialect, but there is no other choice if you do not have access to a server that supports XML. > -----Original Message----- > From: David Carlisle [mailto:davidc@xxxxxxxxx] > Sent: September 5, 2001 11:37 AM > To: xsl-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: Re: [xsl] Problem Merging multiple XML files > > > > > > <xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="uri:xsl"> > > That isn't XSL > which would be > > xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" > > it isn't even the "XSL" language (that is really unrelated to XSL) > that is built into IE5, which would be > > xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/TR/WD-xsl" > > > <xsl:for-each select="PICTUREGALLERY/PICTURE" order-by="+DATETAKEN"> > xsl:for-each does not have an order-by attribute in XSLT so it appears > that this stylesheet is intended to be the non-standard, deprecated > Microsoft dialect, in which case the URI should be > xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/TR/WD-xsl" > however better would be to use Microsoft's XSLT implementation > (which is in IE6 or by upgrading IE5 with MSXML3) > > David > > _____________________________________________________________________ > This message has been checked for all known viruses by Star Internet > delivered through the MessageLabs Virus Scanning Service.
