Do I just have a whole wrong idea > on how XSL is supposed to be used? Yes, I do think your ideas are mixed up. XSLT transforms XML into (in your case) HTML. If events are firing at the wrong time, it's a problem in the HTML that you're generating, not an XSLT problem. It's a good idea to develop working HTML pages first, then write stylesheets to generate them.
