Subject: [xsl] The beginning of xslt?

How did the development of xslt begin? Is there a person who said that something
like this would be needed? I came to this question, while I was doing some
research about xslt development.

Users	<--------->   xslt language
^ ^		    ^	^
\		   /
  \	__________/
   \_/______
    /	      \
   /	       \
  /		\
/		 \

Processors <---->  xsl-list/w3c

In here the users need the language (arrow between Users and xslt language)
and also take part in the development of next version (arrow to xsl-list/w3c).
Also the users get help from the list to their problems in xslt. Users
need the processors to ecxecute xslt.

Processor developers are restricted (partly) about the language, or to be
more specific, restricted about the specification. (arrow between Processors and xsl-list)
Developers offer programs to ecxecute xslt.(arrow between Users and Processors)

Xsl-list/w3c is intrested about the language, ie. specification. Also distributes
help to users and offers limits and possibilities in the form of spesification.

In this framework if the xslt language "disappears", the situation is the
same as the development of xslt was in the beginning.The situation then also means that there can not
be any users or processors. So where came the idea about xslt in the beginning, from
w3c?

If the Processors "disappear", situationis that there can not be any users,
but the language and xsl-list/w3c can excist.

If there is no xsl-list/w3c, nothing else can excist. (in the framework of xslt)

The main question is still the same:
where came the idea about xslt in the beginning?

And how did we end up to this situation,as the figure above shows?

Cheers,
Jarkko
