Subject: RE: [xsl] determining if one or more instances of a child are present in the current node element From: "SANWAL, ABHISHEK (HP-Houston)" <abhishek.sanwal@xxxxxx> Date: Thu, 18 Sep 2003 02:25:23 -0500 |
Hmm.. is that so ? Because my current node will be <Paragraph> and not <paraitem>. Also, it can have other elements as children. So I need to have a specific "test" that checks if that child exists before APPLYING stylesheets for that child. <Paragraph> <ParaItem> <ParaItem> <ParaItem> .... <Paragraph> Let me know :). Is there a better expression to check if the current NODE (paragraph) contains ATLEAST one child PARAITEM. :) Thanks, Abhishek Sanwal HP - Houston Campus abhishek.sanwal@xxxxxx -----Original Message----- From: Jarno.Elovirta@xxxxxxxxx [mailto:Jarno.Elovirta@xxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, September 18, 2003 12:42 AM To: xsl-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: [xsl] determining if one or more instances of a child are present in the current node element Hi, > <xsl:if test="count(child::*[name()=('ParaItem')]) >=1"> > <!-- Check if this expression is correct --> > > Is this expression correct in being able to determine if the current > node has one or more instances of the child ParaItem? Yes, but the easies way would be just to test with <xsl:if test="ParaItem"/> Cheers, Jarno - VNV Nation: Amhrain Comhrac XSL-List info and archive: http://www.mulberrytech.com/xsl/xsl-list XSL-List info and archive: http://www.mulberrytech.com/xsl/xsl-list
