Hi James,

There is something in the sourceforge projects called nfop. I used it for a
time and it was ok.

Justr search for nfop in sourceforge and you will get it. Now i also use fop
in c# but call it from the console because i dont have to render my pdfs
that often on the fly (20 per month i guess) so the approach is ok. Anyway I
would not recommend this approach for a highly active environment, although
it is stable (but not performant).

Hope that helped a little bit.

David

Betreff: [xsl] FOP for MS .NET?

Hi,

I'm new to the community and a part-time student. I am trying to do a
project that involves generating XML files, then transforming the XML files
into various formats.

The formats that I am looking to transform the XML into include HTML and
PDF.

I have read that there is a Java tool (under the apache project) called, FOP
that will read an FO tree and transform it into a print format document.

I am looking to develop my software using MS Visual Studio .NET in C#.

So my questions are:

1) Is there a version of FOP tool for .NET/C#?
2) Are there any other tools out there that are free to use (perhaps even in
a commercial capacity) to transform XML into other file formats?
3) Has anyone got any good tutorials or websites that would help me in my
quest to get an understanding of XSL, XSLT, FO etc so that I can complete my
project (as outlined above)?

Thanks in advance.
James
