> yes thats the manual equivalent :) how manual it is depends on who/what exeutes the transformation, by the time the inlining transformation is embedded in some wrapper pipelining stylesheet that's loading up the stylesheets, compiling them and applying them to documents, it's just part of the plumbing, not some manual intervention that has to be done each time.
