Subject: jadetex error (babel related?) From: "D. Michael McFarland" <mcfarlan@xxxxxxxx> Date: Fri, 06 Feb 1998 09:17:46 -0500 |
I'm a long-time TeX and LaTeX user trying to get an SGML system going
on a shoestring. Jade and jadetex, and this list, have been godsends;
many thanks to all of you.
My current problem is that since upgrading to jadetex 0.55, running
jadetex on even a simple file produces a number of errors (and, in
most cases, a dvi file with extraneous text near the top when
printed). I'll enclose the beginning of the log file below in the
hope that some of you can spot my error. (jade runs quietly and the
RTF version of the output appears to be correct.)
Sigh. I used to think I knew something about TeX....

The control sequence at the end of the top line
of your error message was never \def'ed. If you have
misspelled it (e.g., `\hobx'), type `I' and the correct
spelling (e.g., `I\hbox'). Otherwise just continue,
and I'll forget about whatever was undefined.

You meant to type ## instead of #, right?
Or maybe a } was forgotten somewhere earlier, and things
are all screwed up? I'm going to assume that you meant ##.
! Missing number, treated as zero.
