I did the same using egcs-1.1.2 and gcc 2.7.2.3. The gcc-compiled Jade compiled fine, but also gave me a seg fault, egcs couldn't even compile it cleanly. However, I had no problems compiling Jade on a Solaris 2.6 system with gcc 2.7.2.3. If you can't solve the problem I could provide you with the binary version.
