Subject: jade 1.3 compilation failed (Linux) From: Jany Quintard <quintard.j@xxxxxx> Date: Wed, 3 Nov 1999 16:25:49 +0100 (CET) |
Compilation of jade 1.3 under linux fails. I try to use the unix installation trilogy : ./configure --prefix mydirectory make make install and it fails in step "make" after having built a series of symbolic links: .../... ln -s arc_inst.lo arc_inst.o ln -s ParserEventGeneratorKit.lo ParserEventGeneratorKit.o ln -s SGMLApplication.lo SGMLApplication.o ln -s EventGenerator.lo EventGenerator.o ln -s GenericEventHandler.lo GenericEventHandler.o when executing: gcc -shared Allocator.lo Link.lo IListBase.lo ... with errors: ld: bfd assertion fail ../../bfd/elf32-i386.c:617 ld: bfd assertion fail ../../bfd/elf32-i386.c:617 ld: bfd assertion fail ../../bfd/elf32-i386.c:617 This is : Linux 2.2.12 gcc version 2.7.2.3 Note : I compiled previous version of jade (OpenJade version "1.2.2") on Linux 2.0.29 gcc version 2.7.2.1 and it was nice (just a compiler internal error that was fixed by disabling optimizations ;-)) So is there a bug in the scripts ? I am afraid this could come from some flaw in my Linux installation. Does anyone of the build gurus (I wish I was one !) have an idea ? TIA.
