Assess

(March 21, 2001) The holy grail in online assessment would be a simple to use tool that was integrated with the online application process. We've heard it described as "5 Magic Questions". The implication is that contemporary assessment models, with their onerous time and "norming" requirements are not useful in online settings. The design of an assessment "magic bullet" would, by definition be easy to administer, easy to take, easy to understand. It would fit seamlessly with an online application system to help recruiters screen among a variety of applicants. It would be bias free and legally defensible.

We're sure that ePredix is out front on this one. The company (which you may remember as a combination of a biodata firm and the old PDI Assessment section, is nearing the marketplace with its vision of the holy grail.

According to the website:

ePredix Solutions integrate seamlessly with your online system, bringing high-quality assessment to the recruitment stage of hiring - at a fraction of the cost of traditional assessment.

As soon as job applicants click on the 'apply now' link in your client's online job advertisement, they are seamlessly directed through a series of short, powerful assessments.
The system is a two stage process with applicants who survive the first round encouraged to complete a second set of queries. As an add on to corporate web hosting, this type of qualifications tool is second only to traffic development on the list of things you need to make corporate web recruiting work.
