Subject: Real numbers From: Tony Graham <tgraham@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Tue, 12 Aug 1997 14:40:29 -0400 (EDT) |
Forgive my curiosity, but Section 8.5.7.1 of the standard says, in part: The expression language provides two types of numbers: reals and integers. Integers are considered to be a subtype of reals, and reals are a subtype of numbers. For example, the integer 3 is also considered to be a real number, which, in turn, is considered to be a (dimensionless) quantity. Where is the definition of real numbers? What should the result be of (number? (sqrt -1)) if DSSSL does not support complex numbers?
