Why aren't using different formats!? For printing you'll need high quality/high resolution. For the online documentation you have to use lightweigth graphics, to reduced the time for loading your documentation over the net. You can use tools like the free software imagemagick (for Linux) to convert the images. It's even possible to resize them during the process. The program is called convert and can be used in a batch mode. I don't know if imagemagick is available for Win*. If not you can use PaintShop Pro from JASC (free 30 day trial).
