On my list of things to do is add search capability to the XSL-List archive then change the DSSSList over to the same archive software as the XSL-List, since that software can split indices. Are you using the DSSSList's search page at http://www.mulberrytech.com/dsssl/dssslist/search.html? By using that, you don't need to download the admittedly large index for the DSSSList archive, and you can search for strings within the posts instead of trying to glean everything from the subject lines.
