/ Chuck Darney <cdarney@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> was heard to say: | Is it possible to use attributes assigned to the top-most element within | the style sheet to change some processing options? Is it, as suggested | by David Pawson, a limitation based on the "side-effects" discussion of | a while ago? If I recall this thread from a few days ago, I think the answer is "yes" (to both questions). You can't have side effects, so you can't set global variables From inside a construction rule. However, you can use (inherited-attribute-string) or even a function to test the value of the attribute on the top-most element wherever you need to in processing. Does that help? --norm DSSSList info and archive: http://www.mulberrytech.com/dsssl/dssslist
