Actually what I am processing is the flow object tree that jade outputs.
(jade -t fot)
The "a" element (maybe that's short for anchor) has a "name" attribute
which is unique. The "page-number" element references these "a" elements
for the page number they appear on.

Yes I am using "select-elements" but as Graydon Hoare pointed out in 
another post it's probably my using "assoc" that is the big slowdown.
I am anxious to find out!
