Sebastian, if you are refering to:
initexmf --mkpsres --search
I did that.
Here is the entry from my miktex,.ini:
## Where pdfTeX searches for Type1 fonts.

It is obviously a problem with my setup and I don't know much about MikTex.....
..... but is there any other advice except RTFM :-)
