Is posible to autolabel equations?

I want to have something like that:

a = b + c                  (2.1)
                           ^^^^^ label put automatically not with the
atribut label. For section I see that I can use the command:
(define %section-autolabel% #t)
Is something similar for equation? I use the last version of Docbook dsssl
(1.23) and TeX (jadetex) for backend.
