Hi Matthias,

This is an interesting point of view. Tell me if I get you right. The
declare-flow-object-class public identifier could be a reference to a
document providing explanations about the flow objects. This implies that a
catalog or a declaration would contain the location. For instance, the
actual URN used as a public identifier for the SGML expansions would be set
or resolvable to a URL pointing to a place where the documentation about
these objects would be stored. Is this what you meant?

Seen that way, FPI are useful things because we can retrieve the objects
documentation.

Implications for OpenJade: If we use a URN for each SGML extension, we need
to provide a location resolution in a DTD so that the URN would point to a
location. At this location, we store the documentation for all these
objects.

Implication for future references: We could set a repository for people to
store their flow object documentation.

The public identifier identifies the indended semantics of the FO.
