Need advice on FO

I need implement two visual rendererings (sp?? :).

The first is quite (I want to believe) simple: a paragraph should have gray
background.  What FO should I use?  box in paragraph or paragraph in box?
Or, maybe, something else?

The second one is what where I am completely clueless.  How one implements
text flowing the picture?
