I think the idea is to use formatting-instruction for *everything*.
ex.
(make formatting-instruction data: (string-append "package "
(*some-command-of-yours* (tree-root))))
or whatever you want to do. formatting-instruction works just as well for
normal characters as it does for special characters.
At least this is my understanding.
