(dsssl) multi-column pages

Hi,

I have a document that is a combination of 2-column and 3-column pages.
Using jade/openjade and the page-n-columns extension, is there a way to mix
and match page layouts with RTF output?

I've tried embedding a simple-page-sequence FO inside the simple-page-sequence
from the root rule, and that doesn't appear to work.  Appending multiple
simple-page-sequences using sosofo-append with the root rule doesn't seem
to be working either,
