There will be an Impromptu JATS Users Group Meeting on October 22, 2013

        What: An informal gathering of people interested in the JATS
              including presentations, discussions, and Q&A sessions

         Why: It is likely that a lot of people who are interested in
              the JATS will be in the DC area. JATS-Con has been
              postponed and many of the people who were planning on
              attending it have non-refundable travel arrangements.
              This Users Group Meeting will try to make their travel
              productive, interesting, and fun despite the disappointment
              caused by the postponement of JATS-Con.

        When: 9:00, Tuesday October 22, 2013 (1 day only)

       Where: AAAS offices
              1200 New York Avenue NW
              Washington, DC 20005

              AAAS is located on 12th Street, N.W., with entrances at
              H Street and New York Avenue. The nearest Metro stop is

    Program:  To be posted to JATS-List as soon as it is available,
              probably on Thursday, October 17, 2013.

    Sign-up:  There will be no fee for attendance, but the organizers
              would very much like to know how many people to expect.
