Subject: [jats-list] Publishing 2.3 vs. 3.0: <license> and <permissions> usage From: "Brenda Grover brendaegrover@xxxxxxxxx" <jats-list-service@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Wed, 22 Oct 2014 14:11:27 -0000 |
Hello, In Publishing 2.3, it looks like <license> and <permissions> are equally-nested under <article-meta> (when looking at the Document Hierarchy Diagrams), although the description of <license> within the tag library says "Best practice is to use the <license> element only within the container element <permissions>. The <license> element is allowed outside the permissions wrapper only for reasons of backwards compatibility." In Publishing 3.0, the description of the <license> element does not have the same description, but the Document Hierarchy Diagram indicates that <license> should be nested within <permissions> only. Was there a distinct change from 2.3 to 3.0 that moved <license> within <permissions>? If so, what was the reason for the change? In JATS, it also looks like <license> should be contained within <permissions>, so it looks like the change occurred between 2.3 and 3.0. Thanks, Brenda
