Subject: [jats-list] conversion houses for PDF to JATS/BITS From: "Mary McRae mmcrae@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" <jats-list-service@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Tue, 31 May 2016 17:13:32 -0000 |
We're in the final stages of converting a fair amount of legacy content for our client and are now faced with the challenge of ongoing conversion as new content is produced. The volume is very low - a handful of new publications are released each quarter, each containing anywhere from 40-50 pages to several hundred, with hundreds of citations that are fully tagged (see http://store.samhsa.gov/shin/content//SMA15-4930/SMA15-4930.pdf, http://store.samhsa.gov/shin/content//SMA15-4924/SMA15-4924.pdf for examples) . There are also a number of smaller publications that are consumer-oriented, but these are easily handled in-house. We need to have them available to the public as soon as practical, so saving them up to send off to a conversion house as a larger batch is undesirable. I'm exploring alternatives, and would be interested in hearing how anyone in a similar situation addresses the challenge, as well as recommendations of service providers.
