I am wondering which wrapper element to use for code listings (code samples
which require a label/caption).

Would you rather use <boxed-text> or <fig>, such as:



<boxed-text>

  <label>Code Example 2</label>

  <caption><p>Some Code description</caption>

  <code>print "Hello World!"</code>

</boxed-text>

or

<fig>

  <label>Code Example 2</label>

  <caption><p>Some Code description</caption>

  <code>print "Hello World!"</code>

</fig>

?



Is there a recommendation for that?
