Hi Chiara,

We also make the same distinction and use @abstract-type="video" for video
abstracts.

Subject: [jats-list] abstract-type attribute mentioning video type for
"graphical" value

Hi all,
I find a bit confusing the meaning associated to the value "graphical" in
https://jats.nlm.nih.gov/publishing/tag-library/1.4/attribute/abstract-type.h
tml<https://jats.nlm.nih.gov/publishing/tag-library/1.4/attribute/abstract-ty
pe.html> : inside the
element, the <media> element should be used
for videos, while the <graphic> element should be used to point to a still
image.
I know it's just an example as acceptable values for abstract-type are any
combination of text, numbers, or special characters, but I think the
guidelines would be clearer if "video" wasn't mentioned there (same for
BITS).
FYI, at OUP we use the value 'video' for video abstracts (surprise
surprise!).
I'd be happy to hear diverging opinions on this!
Best wishes,
Chiara Del Vescovo
