Do not cross-post to the DSSSList

Subject: Do not cross-post to the DSSSList

Even for topics that will interest both XSL-List subscribers and
DSSSList subscribers, it is generally a bad idea to cross-post to both
the XSL-List and the DSSSList.

If you cross-post to both lists, several hundred people will receive
two copies of your message. If you're lucky, that will just confuse
them; if you're unlucky, it will annoy them. When someone who is not
on both lists attempts to reply to both lists (as has just happened),
one of their replies will bounce, and now the other several hundred
people who are not on both lists are missing out on part of the
conversation.

If you have something for both the XSL-List and the DSSSList, please
be prepared to start parallel threads. It may be easy to start a
thread by cross-posting to both lists, but doing so ends up
inconveniencing a lot of people.

Regards,

Tony Graham
